WHAT IS SHORING? TYPES OF SHORING AND ITS APPLICATION.
SHORING
The shoring is the construction of temporary structure required to support an unsafe structure. The shore may be of the following types :
1. Raking or inclined shores :
In this method, inclined members called rackers are used to give temporary lateral support to an unsafe structure or wall.
2. Flying or horizontal shores :
In this method, horizontal temporary support is provided to two adjacent, parallel party wall of the two buildings where the intermediate building is to be pulled down and rebuilt.
3. Dead or vertical shores :
In this method, vertical support is provided to walls, roofs, floors etc. when the lower part of a wall has to be removed for the purpose of providing an opening in the wall.
